Blown-in Insulation

Blown-in insulation for attics is typically a more popular choice than the rolled batting insulation over the past few years, and for good reason. Blown-in insulation fills the areas between ceiling joists and existing wall studs, getting those areas that rolled insulation cannot reach. Also, as blown-in insulation settles, it will seal up any gaps and spaces, those sneaky spots that cold air tends to find its way around.

Rolled Insulation

Rolled insulation is probably what you picture when you think about what insulation might look like. It’s basically like a carpet in that you can measure it to the size of your attic and then just “roll” it out across the floor. Rolled insulation is typically used in sidewalls.

Calculate Your Cost

For a rough estimate, take the sq. footage of your home & multiply it times the desired thickness you would you like. Ideally, you want to end up with a minimum thickness of 13”, (which is building code). Most of the time, our customers already have anywhere from 3-6” before we add to it.

For example, if you have a 2,000 square foot home and already have 5” and would like to reach the building code, you will need to add 8”. 2,000x .65= $1,300 would be your total.

Pricing:

6 inches= .60 cents

8 inches= .65

10 inches .70

13 inches=75
